Sunday 8th December 2019 : 4pm – 7pm
Due to the huge success of the 2018 party at the awesome venue of Morley Cricket Club, we have booked to hold this year’s party and awards ceremony there again.
More details closer to the time….
As always, we are looking to hold this year’s Summer Camp on the last weekend in July, subject to site availability. We are looking at a couple of sites at the seaside for this year, so get your bucket and spade at the ready. More details to follow soon, once the site has been decided upon.
Summer Camp is always a great opportunity to get to know your instructor team and the rest of the students and is tremendous fun for everyone in your family. Don’s miss out on the 5th HDKD Summer Camp weekend – it’s gonna be awesome!
Saturday 23rd March : 12pm-4pm : ActiveZone
This year’s chosen charity is Team Daniel (nominated by Victoria Wilson)
Team Daniel is an incredible local charity based in Gildersome run by Emma Oliver. In February 2017 Emma’s 15 year old son Daniel committed suicide during his GCSE year at school. Since then she has been campaigning for more support for children in schools around mental health, anxiety, stress and depression. Victoria says this is a cause very important to her and surely to anyone with children, especially those kids struggling to cope with the stress of exams or other anxieties.
It will be a fun packed afternoon with stalls, fun stuff and, of course, our 3 hour sponsored Katathon.
Sponsor forms available in classes from Wednesday (20th Feb). We’ll also be handing out Change for Change jars again for all your loose change as it proved so popular last time.
Do you own a business or know anyone who does? We are looking for kind donations of prizes for our raffle. Please put out your feelers and let’s get some awesome prizes again this year.
Get involved and help Team Daniel help local school kids and raise awareness of youth suicide.
Love your kata? Enter our Kata video competition and show us how awesome you are. We are running competitions for all our grade kata.
you’re invited to send Anne-Marie a video of you doing your favourite kata. All you need to do is perfect your kata and then take a video of yourself doing it full focus to the best of your ability.
You can enter as many different kata as you like, but send a different email for each kata you’d like to enter – only one video of each kata please! The instructors will then pick a winner for each of our grade kata.
The winner of each grade kata will have their video put on the club website to help other students improve their own kata.
Entries should be sent by email to hiddendragon2011@live.co.uk. closing date for all entries is 28th February 2019.
So get practising and make your videos super awesome.
Time remaining for entries
On 23rd March 2019 we will be holding our Charity Katathon. We would like students to nominate a worthy local charity that will benefit this year from our fundraising efforts.
We always try to support charities which have a personal connection to a member of the club and would like students to explain their reason for nominating a particular charity. Nominated charities will be shortlisted by the instructor team and then put out to the entire club to vote on.
Nominations & reasons for nomination can be given in writing to your class instructor or sent by message to Anne-Marie. We would like any charity nominations in by 12 noon Saturday 19th January
Classes from Saturday 15th December through to Thursday 20th December will include a little Christmas fun. Come in your onesies!
Social time at The Needless Inn to celebrate student success at the days Higher Belt Grading and also for the old fogey’s birthday.
All students and families welcome to join us. The Needless are happy for children to come along and always give us a warm welcome.
